Every year, humans get excited for the Super Bowl. They throw big parties and cheer loudly. While the big parties won’t be happening this year, I know many humans will still tune in. But what about the people who don’t like sports? Well, they should tune in to the Puppy Bowl instead!
What is the Puppy Bowl?
The Puppy Bowl is an adorable event that takes place on Animal Planet. It’s like the Super Bowl, but with rescue puppies! It’s such a huge event and a great way to encourage dog adoption. Plus, it shows people that even adorable little puppies can be rescues, so adopt, don’t shop!
This exciting event usually includes about 100 rescue puppies. This year, there are 70 participating puppies from 22 different shelters. All the puppies are adopted before their moment in the spotlight.
These rescue pups are divided into two teams: Team Ruff and Team Fluff. It’s like any other football game, where the puppies need to bring their toys to the goal line (I honestly know nothing about football). But of course, most dogs don’t really understand the rules, and they just want to have fun playing with toys and other puppies.
So, if the puppies don’t know what’s going on, then you might be wondering what the point is. The point is to be adorable and encourage dog adoption! It’s simply a heartwarming way to relax and spend your day. After all, cute puppies are certainly much more interesting than sports!
When is the 2021 Puppy Bowl?
The Puppy Bowl will air on February 7th, 2021. You can watch it on Animal Planet at 2pm EST/11 am PST. You can also view it on the new Discovery+ streaming service. Sadly, we don’t have access to either of those options, so I’m hoping there will be a place to watch it after it has aired.
So, if you’re looking for a way to spend Super Bowl Sunday without watching actual football, tune in to the Puppy Bowl. It’s a cute event and a great way to encourage more humans to adopt.
