Hi everyone, it’s Mabel! I’ve noticed that all December long, humans listen to nothing but Christmas music. Many of them seem to enjoy it, but I personally just don’t understand it. It just sounds like a bunch of noise to me, but thankfully, pet company Tails.com realized that dogs deserve to be festive too. So, they made the first ever dog Christmas song!
A Christmas Song for Dogs?
Yep, you heard that right! This company made a Christmas song specifically for dogs, and it’s called “Raise the Woof!” The song uses a variety of sounds that dogs love, including squeaky toys, barking, and bells. The song also includes humans saying phrases that dogs like, such as “good boy,” “good girl,” and “would you like to go on walkies?”
These sounds weren’t random though, they were scientifically proven! The company had a group of 25 dogs listen to over 500 different sounds. They observed the dogs’ reactions to each sound and built the song based on that. In the end, they even made an adorable music video to go with it.

Since the song was released, many humans recorded their dogs listening to it. Some dogs are indifferent about it, but others get very excited when hearing it. Just like humans, every dog seems to have a different taste in music.
How Do I Feel About it?
When Molly played the song for me and Taco, we listened carefully before giving our opinions. I loved the parts with squeaky toys and barking. My ears perked up during those parts and I tried to find out where the sounds were coming from. However, Taco didn’t react to the song at all. I guess music just isn’t his thing.
Has your pup listened to the dog Christmas song yet? If so, I’d love to hear about their reactions in the comments!
