By now, everyone following my blog should know that discriminating against Pit Bulls is bad. Dogs labeled as ‘Pit Bulls’ are not mean like humans make them out to be. Dogs are only as bad as their humans are. So, we should blame bad humans for bad dogs, not the dogs themselves. Many dog parents will agree that Pit Bulls are great dogs, but I’ve noticed not all of these “dog lovers” love dogs as much as they think.
On social media, Molly recently saw a post shared by a Pit Bull lovers page. Instead of talking about how amazing Pit Bull breeds are, it was talking negatively about Chihuahuas. It was essentially saying that people should be judging Chihuahuas for aggressive behaviors, not Pit Bulls, and nearly everyone in the comments agreed. But how is that okay? How can you be mad at people talking badly about Pit Bulls, but then go on talking badly about a different breed?
All dogs are dogs. We all just want to be loved, and we all need proper training to help us behave. Sure, Pit Bulls often have a better temperament than a Chihuahua, but not all Chihuahuas are the same. They can be trained just like a Pit Bull can. So, instead of always bringing a certain dog breed down, why can’t humans just love all dogs equally?

Why You Should Never Discriminate
There’s a common saying that humans should always follow: “treat others the way you want to be treated.” Yet, many people lose sight of this. They get so focused on the humans who are hating on their dog’s breed that they feel the need to attack other dog breeds in return. But that really makes them just as bad as the Pit Bull haters.
So, you shouldn’t discriminate against anyone. Be kind to all humans and be kind to all dogs. There’s no simpler way to say it. The reason so many dogs are stuck at shelters is because humans are so quick to judge them. They assume a dog’s breed is enough to describe that dog. But every dog is unique, so they won’t always fit into their breed’s generalizations.
Whether they’re a Pit Bull, Chihuahua, or any other breed, they just need love. So, we need to love all dogs equally and never discriminate against a certain breed. For all you know, the dog that you overlooked could’ve been the sweetest dog in the world. But you’ll never know unless you give them a chance.

All Dogs Are Equal
Chihuahuas and Pit Bulls might look and act very different, but they’re both dogs. Pit Bull parents who shame Chihuahuas are really no different than Chihuahua parents who shame Pit Bulls. Sure, it can be silly to joke about dogs now and then, but many humans are actually serious about hating a certain breed, and it hurts.
Of course, Pit Bulls are more in danger than any other dogs though, so they need all the support they can get. Pit Bull parents just need to remember not to hurt other breeds in the process.
You wouldn’t like it if humans judged you based on your appearance or where you came from. So, why do the same for dogs? Please love all dogs, no matter how big or small they are. And next time you’re looking to adopt a dog, please give all breeds a chance. Pick a dog based on their personality, not looks. That will help you build the best friendship between you and your new furry family member.
