Hi everyone! It’s Mabel here! As mentioned in a recent update post, I would like to occasionally make some personal blog posts about my life as a rescue dog. Obviously, I haven’t been up to much lately, but quarantine isn’t all bad!
For me, quarantine isn’t too different from my normal life. It’s sad that we can’t go to parks, but I still get to spend plenty of time with my family. Molly was already working completely from home before this pandemic started, so I’m used to getting to spend so much time with her.
Overall, my quarantine life is not super exciting though. I’ve been napping in different places around the apartment, I go for regular walks, and I bark at squirrels a lot. It might not sound like much, but I’m keeping myself entertained. Of course, I’m spending plenty of time writing on my blog too.

On the bright side, Molly has had more free time to play with me and work on training me. She’s trying to get me to learn ‘stay’ and ‘quiet’, but I’m not really interested in doing any of that. Unless it’s for a treat… I’ll do anything for a yummy treat!
Taco is not handling the quarantine quite as well as me. He loves that everyone is home all the time, but the second our parents leave to run an errand, he gets even more sad than usual. He whines and whines the whole time they’re gone. It’s interrupting my nap time! I’ll hope he’ll be able to adjust once this is all over.
I wish I had more exciting life stories to share at the moment, but sadly, naps and looking out the window are consuming all my time lately. I hope that everyone else is staying safe, and I can’t wait to go more places once this is over. I miss camping, canoeing, and going to parks!

How are you and your dogs doing during this quarantine? Please let me know in the comments!

We are missing the off leash dog parks a lot! Ada really needs a run with her canine friends, us humans are too slow and boring. I am a bit concerned that separation might be an issue for Ada once we all go back to work, she has so enjoyed having everyone at home all day every day.

Yeah same for us, a lot of the parks that Mabel likes to walk at are closed so I’m worried she’s bored. We do have a small fenced in dog park at our apartment complex but it’s not the same. I’m not worried about separation anxiety for Mabel because she’s usually pretty independent, but our other dog Taco already freaks out when he’s left alone so I can’t imagine how he’ll feel when we start leaving the house more often 😦
