Happy 100 posts everyone! When I first started this blog, I wasn’t sure how much time I was planning to invest in it, but now I know for a fact that it’s a long-term project. My blog might not be super big yet, but I want to continue doing everything I can to spread the word about dog adoption!
Since I’ve now reached my 100 post milestone, I’d like to share some updates about what I have planned for my blog in the upcoming months. Here are just a few awesome things in the works:
Exciting Weekend Posts
As you know, every Saturday I create an adoption-related post, whether it’s about a specific rescue dog or a shelter. The purpose of this is to encourage dog lovers to adopt by showing them how happy rescue dogs can be and by promoting great shelters and rescues.
However, I do realize that my Saturday posts can be a bit repetitive, especially since I haven’t had many rescue dogs to write about lately. So, I will still post about these two things, but every once in a while, I’ll mix it up and write about a news story that has to do with rescue dogs (you might’ve noticed that I kind of started this the past 2 weeks with COVID-19 articles).
So, I’ll continue to post every Saturday, but it will be about lots of different rescue-related things. I hope this keeps my posts more exciting for everyone!
Also, I am still looking for dogs to write about as always. Please contact me if either of the following are true:
- You have a rescue dog with a story to share.
- You know of a great shelter or rescue.
If I make a post about your rescue dog or your suggested shelter or rescue, I will gladly link to your blog or other website if necessary. Thank you to everyone that has contacted me so far!
More Emphasis on Fundraisers
I recently started my first fundraiser, and it’s been off to a slow start as expected. I still have a small following and I understand that a lot of humans are tight on money right now.
However, I will keep my fundraiser going long-term, and whenever people have the money to donate, I strongly encourage you to help out! If all goes well, I will start to add more exciting fundraisers in the future!

Games?
Yep, you heard that right! I’ve been working on ideas for dog-related games for the blog. I figured that reading can get boring after a while, so I want to add more interactive ways to spread my message.
I’m currently working on a ‘Which Dog Breed Are You?’ quiz as a simple first game. However, I’d eventually like to add some ‘choose your own adventure’ games to help people see the world from a rescue dog’s perspective.
Games take a lot more time and effort than articles do though, so I’m not sure how long it will take to launch this section. Stay tuned for updates!
Increased Number of Posts
Finally, as my blog gets more popular, I’d like to consider adding more posts throughout the week. If there are a lot of exciting rescue dog stories in the news, I might add two weekend posts instead of one. I’ve also considered adding some personal posts about my life as a rescue dog. For now, I’m just going to play it by ear and see what works best for my site!
