Dogs can get bored just like people can. As much as we love sleeping and looking out the window, we know there’s so much more that we can do. So, please don’t leave us out of all your fun activities. Instead, try finding more dog-friendly activities that we can join in on!

Here are just some of the many exciting activities that dogs can be a part of! They might not be exciting for every dog, but it’s good for us to get out of the house from time to time.

Bike Rides

If you have a small dog, bike rides can be a fun new activity. Molly has a basket on the front of her bike that I fit in perfectly! I love just sitting there while she rides her bike around. However, if your dog doesn’t like to sit still, a bike ride might not be the best choice for them.

Boat Rides

Pontoon boats, canoes, and kayaks are all great adventures for a dog. I’ve been on lots of different kinds of boats, and they’re all very fun! I don’t like swimming, but I enjoy being near the water and looking at all the cool things nearby. If you have your own boat, you can easily bring your dog along, but if you’re renting or borrowing a boat, make sure to ask if dogs are allowed first.

Camping

Camping is the perfect dog-friendly vacation because it’s all outdoors. I have gone camping with Molly lots of time before and I love it! There are so many great smells, so it’s never boring. Sure, camping isn’t for everyone, but if you’re planning a weekend camping trip, don’t leave your dog behind!

Eating Outside

When the weather is nice, it can be fun to eat at restaurants that have outdoor seating. That way, your dog can come along and sit with you while you eat. I love coming to outdoor restaurants because it really makes me feel like part of the family. Plus, I love finding crumbs on the ground.

However, if it’s too cold to eat outside, that’s okay! If that’s the case, let your dog go for a car ride whenever you go through a drive thru. It might not be much, but at least they’ll get out of the house for a while.

Hang out with Friends

Hopefully your friends love dogs just as much as you do! So, whenever you hang out at a friends house, why not ask if you can bring your dog along? That way, your dog doesn’t have to be lonely while you’re away. I like hanging out at different places because everywhere is more fun with Molly around!

River Tubing

I recently went tubing on a river with Molly’s family. We tethered all our tubes together and relaxed on a calm river. It was really fun because they even had special tubes for dogs, so me and two of my doggy relatives got to have our own tubes during this trip! I wouldn’t recommend it if your dog is scared of going near the water, but I had a blast! I didn’t have to swim at all, but Molly got me an adorable Nemo lifejacket just in case!

Visiting Parks

One of the easiest things to do with your dog is to take them to nearby parks. I love walking around trails and smelling new things. Sure, dog parks are great, but oftentimes, exploring new trails is even better for me! So, consider exploring more dog-friendly parks near you!

There are so many exciting things that your dog can do with you, so don’t leave them out of your next adventure! We’re important members of the family, so don’t let your dogs get left behind!
